We recommend that you always contact a student counsellor at your study programme before choosing to withdraw from your study. A student counsellor can advise and guide you, among other things, on the five-month rule and re-enrolment/re-admission.
Please note that withdrawing from a study programme may have serious consequences for you as a foreigner in Denmark. Please contact the Danish Agency for Labour Market and Recruitment if you have any questions concerning the effects of a possible withdrawal from your study programme.
Five-month rule
The earliest you can be enrolled in the same study programme again is five months after you have withdrawn from the study programme.
If your withdrawal is due to unusual circumstances you can apply for an exemption from the deadline.
SU and withdrawing
If you receive SU, your SU will automatically cease. If you receive SU after your end date, you will be required to repay it to the SU Agency.
If you withdraw because you are enrolled in another study programme, you must apply for SU again at www.su.dk. There is no automatic transfer of your SU.
